BASTILLE BASSIST IS NOW A FULLY TRAINED PILOT
Will Farquarson, bassist of Brit Award winners Bastille, has just passed his flying exams, making him a fully-qualified pilot!
Vocalist Dan Smith tweeted from the band’s main account “Holy shi*, @willyfarquarson is an actual pilot now. At least one of us is vaguely rock n roll.”
In an interview with Radio X in 2014, Farquarson revealed his dream of flying, but unfortunately at the time all odds were against him; his flying centre was closing down, they were never home often enough to commit to lessons, and his bandmates refuse to get in a plane with him even if he did pass.
In the same interview, primary keys player Kyle Simmons argued his defence: “It’s just too perfect a headline, band member flies a plane and offers to fly the band somewhere and of course it is going to crash!”
This news could go one of two ways though: the rest of the band still refuse to get in a plane with him, or they get a snazzy Bastille private jet and he’s stuck being the designated driver for life.
