On Friday RnB sensation Raye released her latest hit ‘Friends’; a sassy anthem of female solidarity that every girl needs to hear.
Produced by Mark Ralph (Years & Years, Clean Bandit), Kyle Shearer (Melanie Martinez) and Fred Gibson (Ellie Goulding, Plan B), the tropical pop track lashes out at backstabbing, competitive friendships both in and out of the music industry as the Brit School alumnus has seen her fair share. As her first release since May when she unleashed her third EP Side Tapes, ‘Friends’ makes for a strong and refreshing return as Raye plays with her expected RnB infused pop sound, introducing Latin pop beats reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
Raye has made a real name for herself in the last two years as she has written songs for the likes of Charli XCX, Little Mix and John Legend, as well as topping the charts while featuring in Jax Jones’ bold banger ‘You Don’t Know Me’ (also produced by Ralph) and Jonas Blue’s dance anthem ‘By Your Side’.
